- Voters on Long Island rejected the New York Islanders' arena referendum. With the team's lease ending in 2015 and no particular place for them to go on the island, expect to hear the words "Islanders" and "relocate" over the next two seasons or so.

VERSUS will now be referred to as the NBC Sports Network. As for changes surrounding the coverage provided therein, no word just yet. Here's to hoping it doesn't include horrendous camera angles that miss the live action.
