Giveaway: Maple Street Press' 2011-12 Penguins Annual

When it comes to three-day weekends, you'll hardly find me complaining about some extra time off. The one exception tends to be Labor Day weekend. We're met with the immediate downside of Labor Day weekend right off the bat, as it unofficially marks the end of summer. It won't be long until we start to grab a jacket as we head out the door, consider a pair of gloves and start to see Christmas decorations on store shelves (I'd say Halloween or Thanksgiving, but stores have already started that). It's bad enough absolutely everyone I know is somehow obsessed with pumpkin-flavored everything, and every single store seems to be willing to give it to them. Maybe one of you can explain that to me.

But, on the bright side, the cooler weather also means the hockey season is right around the corner. Preseason hockey is weeks away and the regular season less than a month. So I figured what better way to unofficially kick off hockey season than to give away a free, pumpkin-flavored Penguins annual*, courtesy of Maple Street Press. The magazine is a collection of various pieces written by some of the regular Pittsburgh writers and bloggers that you've come to know over the years, in addition to a few who may be a bit new to the environment. Either way, I'm confident you won't be disappointed in this issue. For those who missed it, here's the pre-order post I put together last month.

If you want to win, it's simple: leave ONE comment in the comments section. I know we normally like to fuel some banter around these parts but for the sake of entering each name into the randomizer that will pick the winner, one comment is perfect.

Winner will be contacted directly. As much as I love our international readers and followers, I unfortunately have to limit this to just US and Canada residents only. I'm sorry friends.

Comments close at midnight tonight, so be sure to get yours in ASAP. What's that? You just signed up because you saw a free giveaway and now you can't put your name in for it because of the 24-hr waiting period? Sorry to hear that, but I'm also sorry it took a giveaway to get you to make a username. I'd suggest locking up that username now and keeping an eye out down the line for another one. Maybe, just maybe there will be another before the season starts.
