The Pens dropped the Oilers last night in an entertaining, fast-paced game. The top line is churning out points left and right. I scored! No, I scored! It went in off my stick! They probably have more points than the Sabres. [PG]

Per everyone's expectations, Colorado Avalanche are 6-0. They defeated the Dallas Stars last night in a game that featured some incredible goaltending by Semyon Varlamov as well as some beautiful goals. Patrick Roy sets a new record for a coach to go undefeated at career start. [NHL.com]

The other two undefeated teams squared off as well last night, and the Sharks topped the Blues, 6-2. They paid a heavy price, though, as Maxim Lapierre laid an ugly check from behind on Dan Boyle, who was motionless on the ice for a bit, was stretchered off and spent the night in a St. Louis hospital. What followed was brawling, retaliation against Lapierre's linemate Brenden Morrow, and all that good stuff. [Kukla's Korner]
