Good morning one and all,

Tuesday was awful. I ended up having to be at a business dinner instead of going to say farewell to Teemu Selanne. Apparently he was hit in the mouth by Luke Schenn's stick and lost a tooth. But at least the Ducks beat the Flyers and that cheered me up.

The Hawks and the Sens game featured 11 goals, including a Jonathan Toews hat trick. Jaromir Jagr scored his 119th career game-winning goal last night. Two behind Gordie Howe for the most all-time.

We are almost 1 month into the season, so here's the question: how important is the hot start?

John Tortorella is playing the living daylights out of the Sedin twins and Ryan Keslercausing worry he's wear them down. I'm unhappy with Bylsma for doing the same thing with our core guys, although we do have many injuries already.

Speaking of injuries, Chuck Kobasew is expected to miss 3-4 weeks. Rob Scuderi will have surgery for a broken ankle later this week and is out indefinitely.

Thankfully, Beau Bennett is expected to resume practice this week and should be back in the lineup soon. James Neal is targeting end of November for his return.

We welcome the Bruins tonight. I've generally been rooting for the Red Sox in the WS, but tomorrow I will root for the Cardinals - impossible as it may be - just because. They have too many good things in Boston. Here's your game preview.

Jarome Iginla says while he played in Pittsburgh for a few short months, he was never really himself, he left his personality back in Calgary, not wanting to step on any toes. He also apparently left his game there.

Meet the world's oldest hockey pool. These seem like fun guys to hang with.
