Pittsburgh Penguins 1st Quarter Results

The Pittsburgh Penguins are 1/4 of the way through the 2013-14 season with another 62 games remaining. How have they looked throughout the 1st Quarter?

The Pittsburgh Penguins have finished up the first quarter of the 2013-14 NHL season with a 12-8-0 record. Despite recent struggled the past few weeks they still sit at #1 in the Metropolitan Division.

However, their recent struggles have caused them to fall to #5 in the Eastern Conference and #14 in the NHL. Even so, the race for the East is quite close, as the Pens are just 1 point behind the #2 team and just 1 point ahead of #2 in their own Division.

The Pens have fallen to #11 PP% converting on 20.8% of their opportunities and are are #9 PK% stopping 83.9% of chances. They are also currently #13 in Goals For with 56, #8 in Goals Against with 47, #11 in Goal Differential at +9, and #4 in Faceoff% at 53.8.
