All the previews, and the predictions are now over. It's time to finally drop the puck.
In one corner, the New York Islanders. Predicted by many to be again in the basement, but has proven to be a scrappy team that's played excellent hockey in the past month in order to earn a place in the post-season.
In the other corner, the juggernaut Pittsburgh Penguins. The #1 seed. The best team in the league. The team of Crosby, Malkin, Letang and Neal. Joined by Iginla and Morrow.
Now it's time to see if the New York Islanders can do in a maximum of 7 games what the rest of the playoff teams in the East could not this year, and that's beat the Penguins 4 times. (The Pens are 22-3-0 against the playoff teams).
Let's go Pens.
