After the second period ended, the fireworks began with Evgeni Malkin getting into a fight with Patrice Bergeron of the Boston Bruins.
A short, spirited bout with Bergeron getting busted open, but Malkin putting himself in the box for the first five minutes (when his team was on the power play) in a game they were down by a goal.
This sequence, sparked when Sidney Crosby bumped Boston goalie Tuukka Rask. Crosby was frustrated from being shutdown, and probably trying to play some games, but it didn't prove fruitful, as the Bruins went on to score two more goals, and Rask recorded his first post-season shutout. It's definitely something that Crosby will need to learn from, as these outbursts (like when he fought Claude Giroux of the Flyers last year) doesn't seem to relieve his personal frustration, and even worse doesn't really inspire his team, nor does it cause the opponent to lose control.
Malkin's fight card is pretty interesting by the way: Rick Nash (in the pre-season a few years ago), Henrik Zetterberg (in the Stanley Cup finals in 2009) and now Bergeron.
