Summer is in full swing, but the Pens young guys will hit the ice next week for the development camp. From the team:
The Pittsburgh Penguins released a roster of 37 prospects who will be attending the team’s annual prospect development camp July 16-20 at CONSOL Energy Center, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
Pittsburgh’s development camp roster includes 21 forwards, 12 defensemen and four goaltenders. The roster features 23 players who were drafted by the Penguins – including all six of the team’s 2013 draft picks.
Previously-announced attendees Tristan Jarry, Derrick Pouliot, Olli Maatta, Scott Harrington, Brian Dumoulin, Oskar Sundqvist and Eric Hartzell will be joined by defensive-minded blueliner Harrison Ruopp and 2013 third-round draft pick (77th overall) Jake Guentzel.
Fans are invited to attend the camp-concluding scrimmage – which is free and open to the public – on Saturday, July 20 at 3 p.m. at CONSOL Energy Center. Doors will open at 2 p.m. at the American Eagle and Trib Total Media Gates.
Complimentary parking will be available in all CONSOL Energy Center surface lots. Several concession stands, as well as PensGear – the Penguins’ official team store – and the Dick’s Sporting Goods box office will be open.
