The Pens owned the Habs last night. That was some bounceback game. The power play returned to top form, and the penalty kill stayed excellent.
Dan Bylsma matched the PK Subban/Andrei Markov pairing against the Malkin line this time (to the tune of 3 goals).
Flower seems to have not one, but two things on his bucket list: to score a goal, and apparently to fight. He kinda came close last night, though it's probably a good thing the refs didn't let them. Watch Budaj fight. That wouldn't have been pretty.
Moving on to tonight's matchup against the Isles. Don't look now, but the hottest line in hockey is on Long Island: Vanek-Tavares-Okposo have combined for 17 goals and 43 points in 11 games this month.
Here is the game preview from the NHL. The Pens will not hold a morning skate today, but Dan Bylsma will address the media at 5:30. Guessing Jeff Zatkoff will be in goal as it's a back-to-back situation.
With the team slowly getting healthy, Zach Sill was sent back to WBS after he was scratched from the game last night.
Canadian hockey player and former women's captain Hayley Wickenheiser will be the flag bearer in Sochi, meaning Sid won't be missing any games (had he been selected for the honor). Zdeno Chara is missing two Bruins games being the Slovakian flag-bearer.
These are team USA uniforms for the opening ceremony. They are horrible.
If you missed the first episode of NHL Revealed, here it is. The Pens footage starts at around 38 minutes or so. Geno best.
And for a little fun: if each Stanley Cup contender were an Oscar-nominated film, which movie would they be?
