Saturday morning, the Penguins line rushes for their morning skate/practice showed defense pairings without Rob Scuderi as part of the plan.
Line rushes this morning: 14-87-72 ... 71-16-9 ... ... 17-57-23 ... 27-13-38. D pairings: 10-7 ... 58-3 ... 6-47 ... 4-25.— Jason Mackey (@Mackey_Trib) October 11, 2014
Yes, Andrew Ebbett was playing on a "defense pairing" with Rob Scuderi. And Scott Harrington, based on this anyway, is in.— Jason Mackey (@Mackey_Trib) October 11, 2014
This comes one day after the Penguins recalled Scott Harrington from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, and many, myself included, believed that Harrington would not have been called up without the intent to have him play.
Jim Rutherford and Mike Johnston are flexing their muscles early in October, showing that they perhaps have no allegiance to the Ray Shero contracts. It will be interesting to see what comes of this.
EDIT: Mike Johnston trolled everyone.
Mike Johnston says the Penguins will dress the same six defensemen tonight that they used Thursday. Means Harrington sits.— Dave Molinari (@MolinariPG) October 11, 2014
