Pens Re-sign Fleury to a 4-year, $23M Extension

And here we go: the Pens have re-signed Marc-Andre Fleury to a 4-year contract extension. The deal begins with the 2015-16 season and runs through the 2018-19 campaign, and has an average annual value of $5.75 million.

Fleury is currently tied atop the NHL leaderboard with 3 shutouts, has a record of 7-2-0, GAA of 1.89 and SV% of .931.

Fleury $5.75 million cap hit very reasonable. Comparables Varly, Lehtonen, Crawford, Miller, Ward, Bishop, Schneider all higher.

So instead of making Fleury earn an extension and keeping their options open, the Pens make him live up to one and are stuck if he fails.
