Beau Bennett Diagnosed with the Mumps

Penguins winger becomes the second player on the team to be diagnosed.

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

This evening, the Penguins informed the public masses that Beau Bennett has been diagnosed with the mumps, becoming the second player on the team and the 15th in the NHL.

As of yesterday, the team had expressed that Bennett was having some symptoms, but they would not know the diagnosis for sure until test results came back.

All I can think is how unlucky Beau Bennett has been in recent days, weeks, months, years. However you'd like to spell it.

I guess at this point we can just hope that the Penguins are able to control the outbreak from decimating the lineup any more than it has already become.
