The Pittsburgh Penguins can't catch a break with the mumps:
Steve Downie, Brandon Sutter and Thomas Greiss are returning to Pittsburgh today to be tested for the mumps, it was announced by Pittsburgh Penguins General Manager Jim Rutherford.
The three players accompanied the team on its road trip to Florida yesterday. They will be placed in isolation until test results are known.
The team is now left with only 11 healthy forwards, 7 defensemen and 1 goalie before tonight's game against the Florida Panthers. Goalie coach Mike Bales, 43 and retired since 2010, played as the second goalie in practice today and presumably could be the emergency backup tonight if the team can't get Jeff Zatkoff physically to Miami in time, which they're expected to try to do.
Best guess at lines now?
Spaling - Crosby - Hornqvist
Kunitz - Malkin - Comeau
Klinkhammer- Goc -Rust
Farnham - Ebbett
No word on if the Pens can get another forward on time, because:
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is off until Saturday. Players might have dispersed across North America.

Yep. That kind of season. Again.
