The Pittsburgh Penguins go to Manhattan to face off against the New York Rangers

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

For the 12th time in the calendar year of 2014, and mercifully the last one, the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers will faceoff.

In the 2014-15 portion of the season, the teams are split, with the Rangers winning 5-0 back on November 11 and the Pens getting some revenge with a 3-2 with a shootout win a few days later.

On the season, the Rangers have been very average so far. Just an 11-10-4 record with an even 73 goals for and 73 goals against on the year. They're also a very mediocre 4-4-2 over the past 10 games.

However, and unfortunately, much like Washington and Philadelphia, NYR always seems to raise their game when they meet the Pens, it's never an easy game.

For the Pens Olli Maatta (undisclosed injury) is out, but luckily Robert Bortuzzo is finished with his 2 game suspension and will take his spot in the lineup.

Go Pens!
