Tuesday Pens Points: Everyone Skates, Rookies Play Last Game Today

All Pens regulars skating at Consol. Pens prospects last game of the London tourney on tap today. What does Mike Johnston plan for goaltenders in camp? Catching up with Tom Kuhnhackl and Scott Harrington.

The Pens continue their informal pre-camp workouts. All of the birds have now flownwaddled back to the nest as defensemen Kris Letang (without the hair so there goes his skill) and Simon Despres have joined the rest of the guys this morning at Consol.

Five questions with Sidney Crosby. Every time I read or listen to a Sid interview I remember the jokes from the lockout days when the NHL podium had its own twitter account.

Yesterday was the fun day for Pens season ticket holders as the players were out and about delivering season ticket packages. A lot of them ended up playing hockey with fans, including Sid. This is a great tradition and I’m glad it survived the regime change. Geno best.

Ten Pens observations entering training camp from Josh Yohe. Most important of all being that Olli Maatta looks to be ahead in the rehab of his surgically repaired shoulder injury. I still don’t think they should rush it.

Pens writers and bloggers got together to give us a season preview. I really like when they do these.

Pens rookies conclude the tournament in London, Ontario with a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs today. No word yet on who will be in goal (Murray or Jarry) but it seems that both of them as well as Eric Hartzell are all on longer-term development plans.

Hockey's Future catches up with Pens prospect Tom Kuhnhackl. Another one with Scott Harrington. Great stuff there.

The Blackhawks prospects finished their rookie tournament 0-3 but there were some highlights, like this ridiculous pass from Teuvo Teravainen.

The PensNation Bag Skate Tuesday includes our James Conley as well.

Now for people like me who always whine about Sid’s vanilla interviews, here’s a different flavor: an in-depth conversation with Connor McDavid.

The Ryan Johansen–Blue Jackets story is heating up as their normally level-headed GM Jarmo Kekalainen had some strong words for the player, questioning the motives of his agent, and including the words "Go ahead and make us pay".
