Pens Points: Sutter with a Wild winner in OT

A look at Jeff Zatkoff, Oskar Sundqvist, Scott Harrington, Craig Adams and a couple of injuries around the league in this morning's Pens Points!

Brandon Sutter 's second goal of the night in OT gave the Pittsburgh Penguins the win last night. [Post-Gazette]

And the Trib's game recap. [Tribune-Review]

Craig Adams is fighting for his job. (Even though, what isn't mentioned is that it wouldn't be fiscally possible to demote Adams to the AHL, due to $600,000 of his $700,000 counting against the salary cap due to his 35+ contract). It's a fight he will win, but maybe at least he won't play every night like in the Bylsma regime. [Tribune Review]

Scott Harrington quietly making his case for an NHL job. [Post-Gazette]

A look at the 3rd goalie in camp, Jeff Zatkoff, who continues his fight for a roster spot. [BC Times- Metzer]

Could Oskar Sundqvist be a key player for the Pens to look to trade veterans? Our guess- not this year. Sundqvist is probably going back to Sweden rather than playing in the AHL, which kind of nixes that idea..for now. [Hockey Buzz- Wilson]

Evander Kane was close to becoming a Flyer, which I didn't believe, but that's the bottom line, 'cuz Bob McKenzie said so. [Broad Street Hockey]

Let's all laugh at the Rangers, where Dominic Moore is the (temporary) first line center. [Blueshirt Banter]

Nathan Horton has a really bad back. That sucks. But Columbus already knew he was brittle (and had a bad shoulder) when they threw tons of money at him last summer. And yet they decide to nickle-and-dime their franchise center in the name of holding a strong party line. [Puck Daddy]

Jordan Staal will be out 3-4 months after having surgery to repair his broken leg. That sucks too. Everyone pretty much already had Carolina in the basement of the division and losing J-Staal isn't going to help. [Canes Country]
