If the Pittsburgh Penguins have to play late night, at least this one is on the weekend. A Saturday night game is in the works against the Arizona Coyotes.
A couple quick thoughts:
- Shane Doan sucks
- One minor change in the lineup, according to the morning skate with Kevin Porter taking Bobby Farnham's spot on the 4th line.
- Coach Mike Johnston's patience with the defense will last a little longer, as it appears the same pairs will play together.
Arizona's expected lines:
Max Domi - Antoine Vermette - Mikkel Boedker
Tobias Rieder - Martin Hanzel - Anthony Duclair
Kyle Chipchura - Brad Richardson - Shane Doan
Jordan Marinook - Boyd Gordon - Steve Downie
--
Oliver Ekman-Larsson - Michael Stone
Nicklas Grossmann - Zbynek Michalek
Klas Dahlback - Connor Murphy
Goalies: Mike Smith , Anders Lindback
--
An interesting lineup, most expect Arizona to be among the worst teams in the league, but with Domi and Duclair they already have two rookie Top-6 pieces who should be impact players for years to come. Last night in the Coyotes' first game, Domi scored a goal and an assist in his first NHL game.
Ekman-Larsson is arguably one of the most under-rated (or at least under-reported) players in the league. He's legitimately one of the best defensemen in the entire league and has the skill-set to do any and everything on the ice.
Arizona snapped off 4 goals and won last night against the LA Kings, so we already know they're capable of beating anyone. Let's hope the Penguins are ready to match that intensity as they seek the first win of the year.
