Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Derrick Pouliot hasn't had a good fall. First there was a training camp where he played his way out of an NHL job, getting him assigned to the AHL team in Wilkes-Barre. Now, he's been arrested in Wilkes-Barre over the weekend.
Penguins prospect Derrick Pouliot has been cited for public drunkenness.
Pouliot was cited by Wilkes-Barre City police early Sunday morning, according to a police report. Officers arrived at a dispute between Pouliot and a taxi driver at 1:10 a.m. and found the 21-year-old defenseman to be intoxicated, police said. Pouliot was taken to the police station and issued a non-traffic citation. He was released to a sober adult, according to the report.
Derrick Pouliot is out tonight in Wilkes-Barre with what coach Mike Sullivan called a bruise.— Jonathan Bombulie (@BombulieTrib) November 5, 2015
Umm, a bruise? Did he hit the bottle too hard?
Not a great look, but we all did dumb stuff at 21 years old, right? Hopefully this is a lesson learned for Pouliot, who obviously has some maturation on and off the ice still to go through.
