However, that probably shouldn't be necessary. The Pens played with 17 skaters so they can make an emergency recall (for a player with a salary of $650k or less). The Wilkes-Barre Penguins scratched one of their top defensemen, Taylor Chorney last night. [Penguins Insider]

Christian Ehrhoff skated before practice yesterday morning and Kris Letang showed up at the rink too. Letang though, hasn't exercised since his concussion on Saturday [Tribune Review]

Former Penguin Darius Kasparaitis is now turning into a real estate mogul, with plans announced to build condos in Miami. Cool to see a guy doing big things after his playing days are over. [Forbes]

Patrick Kane skated yesterday but the team still says he is 7 weeks away from returning to action. This is just my personal speculation, but with playoffs starting in 2 weeks and a player already on the ice, this extended timeline sounds like a good way to not put any pressure/expectations on a return but could Kane be back quicker? Time will tell. [Puck Daddy]
