Sidney Crosby and Team Canada have won the World Championships, congrats to them on a dominant tournament where they blew out every other team that got in their way, including a 6-1 win in the 'ship vs. Russia. Crosby scored a goal and an assist in the title game, and recorded at least a point in every game of the tournament that he played in.
Crosby becomes the 26th player to win the "Triple Crown" for a gold medal at the WC, a gold medal in the Olympics and a Stanley Cup.
More impressively, Crosby is the 1st and only player to captain his team in each leg of the 3 events.
According to the International Ice Hockey Federation:
-More than 15,000 players have tried to win worlds gold since 1930.
-More than 9,000 players have tried to win the Stanley Cup since 1893.
-More than 4,000 players have tried to win Olympic gold since 1920.
Only 26 players have won all three.
Congrats to Sid!
