Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon have a lot in common. They're from the same little town of Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia and they both are former NHL #1 overall draft picks. That's a pretty cool and unique bond. Despite Crosby being 8 years (!!) older than MacKinnon, the two have formed a friendship recently as well. They're regular summer workout partners in Colorado and Los Angeles, training under new Penguins "Director of Sport Science and Performance" Andy O'Brien.
And now, Sid and Nate have formed this summer's #1 buddy duo in all the land.
Tim Hortons
First, as noted in yesterday's Pens Points, the two filmed a commercial for Tim Hortons where they manned the drive thru window at the Canadian coffee shop, surprising the people at the window. Fun times.

Dropping by a special young man's house
To make matters even better, the super group of Crosby and MacKinnon stopped by a special Dartmouth, Nova Scotia house, home of a 7 year old boy fighting leukemia.
That’s especially true when two special guests arrived.
WATCH: Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon meet Bryan and his family
Hometown hockey heroes Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon paid the family a visit after volunteers left.
The two NHL players chatted with the family, toured the yard and even played with the water guns for a while.

The summer of Sid and Nate is probably one of the best things going right now.
