Game 2 of the season for the Pittsburgh Penguins see them host the Anaheim Ducks. The Pens come into the game 1-0 after the 3-2 shootout win Thursday night against the Capitals. The Ducks enter the night 0-1 after a 4-2 loss in their season opener in Dallas.
A bit of a weird game, the Ducks outshot the Stars 17-1 in the first period (and 35-20 on the night) but still ended up losing the game. The speedy Andrew Cogliano scored both goals for Anaheim on the night.
Anaheim suffered another loss too, former Pens defenseman Simon Despres didn't play in the 3rd period against Dallas and is going to see specialists after apparently feeling affects of a head issue. Despres missed more than half of last season with a concussion, so that's scary and not a good development, all the best for him for a quick and permanent return to full health.
Expected Anaheim lines:
Nick Ritchie - Ryan Getzlaf - Corey Perry
Jakob Silferberg - Ryan Kesler - Andrew Cogliano
Mason Raymond - Antoine Vermette - Nick Sorensen
Ryan Garbutt - Chris Wagner - Jared Boll
Cam Fowler / Josh Manson
Korbainian Holzer OR Clayton Stoner / Sami Vatanen
Jacob Larsson / Kevin Bieksa
