It's the first game of the season for the Penguins captain and he'll be meeting a former Penguins captain in Jaromir Jagr tonight in Pittsburgh.
Florida, coming off a playoff appearance last season, is a trendy pick to go far this season with all the talent that they have. So far they have been living up to the expectations with a 3-1-1 record to start the season. However tonight will only be the second game that the Panthers are on the road for (0-0-1). The Panthers, like the Pens, have had a few days off, they haven't played since a 5-2 win over Colorado on Saturday.
Expected Florida lines
Jonathan Marchessault - Aleksander Barkov - Jaromir Jagr
Kyle Rau - Vincent Trocheck - Reilly Smith
Jared McCann - Denis Malgin - Colton Sceviour
Gregg McKegg - Derek MacKenzie - Shane Harper
Keith Yandle / Aaron Ekblad
Michael Matheson / Jason Demers
Alex Petrovic / Mark Pysyk
Expected Pittsburgh lines
Scott Wilson - Sidney Crosby - Patric Hornqvist
Chris Kunitz - Evgeni Malkin - Bryan Rust
Carl Hagelin - Nick Bonino - Phil Kessel
Tom Kuhnhackl - Matt Cullen - Eric Fehr
Brian Dumoulin / Trevor Daley
Ian Cole / Justin Schultz
Olli Maatta/ David Warsofsky
Florida is set to play backup James Reimer for his second start of the year (0-0-1). Reimer has had a surprisingly strong career against the Pens (considering he's coming from a mediocre Toronto team) with a career 4-0-2 record vs Pittsburgh with a strong .931 save % and 2.27 GAA and a shutout in his career.
