Pens Points: Welcome Back, Rangers

Pens salvage road trip, now look ahead to matchup with hated Rangers

NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins at Buffalo Sabres Kevin Hoffman-USA TODAY Sports

Busy weekend for the Penguins with back to back games against the New York Islanders on Friday night and the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. The Pens scraped out 3 points with an overtime win over the Isles and a shootout loss in Buffalo. Sidney Crosby pushed his goal total to 12, scoring in both games. Both Matt Murray and Marc-Andre Fleury saw action as a part of the back to back and both played exceptionally. If you missed anything from this weekend’s set of games you can catch up with our game recaps here and here.

The Pens will return to the ice on Monday night when they play host to the New York Rangers who are making their first trip to Pittsburgh since they were eliminated by the Pens last season. This will be the front end of a home and home between the two sides as they will meet in New York on Wednesday night.
