Good morning one and all,
The Pens are in Florida where they'll face top two Atlantic Division teams back-to-back without their #2 and #3 centers Malkin and Bonino and one of their best penalty killers in Fehr. Oh and we get to see Oskar Sundqvist. [Penguins]
Will Matt Cullen be plugged into the #2 center spot between Hagelin and Kessel? Probably. He did an OK job whenever he was moved up in the lineup so for two games doesn't seem to be the worst solution in the world. [Trib]
Sid is two points away from 900 career points. Let's go for that and a little over while you're at it. Game preview here and hoo boy what happened to this website? [NHL.com]
Speaking of Sid, I haven't seen any "What's wrong with Sidney Crosby?" thinkpieces lately, has anyone? I didn't think so. [Penguins]
We will probably get to see Jeff Zatkoff in one of the two Florida games. In the other we'll see whether Flower can shake that clunker of a game he had on Tuesday. Fun times in goal! [PPG]
Mike Babcock just coached his 1000th NHL game this week. One of the best, if not THE best, coach of this generation, but what it is that makes him great? Scotty Bowman is here to explain. [Globe & Mail]
This made me happy to see. After a long recovery from shattering his heel on an icing, Joni Pitkanen's hockey career has resumed in Finland, where he signed with his hometown team Karpat from Oulu. [Yahoo Sports]
And last but certainly not least, congratulations to All Star MVP John Scott (this will never not be weird to type) and his wife Danielle on the healthy birth of twin baby girls! That's two more tutus please! [Twitter]
