It'll be a hockey night in Pittsburgh Friday night as the Penguins meet the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. From the Pens:

Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Penguins and Tampa Bay Lightning will be played Friday at 8 p.m. at CONSOL Energy Center. The NHL will announce the remainder of the schedule for the best-of-seven series following tonight’s Dallas-St. Louis playoff game

A Sunday afternoon Game 2 sure would keep in-line with typical NHL/NBC broadcast policies, but that is dependent on the other Western match-up as well.

Out west there will be two Game 7s, the aforementioned Dallas/St. Louis game tonight and then Nashville/San Jose tomorrow. The Pens and Lightning play the following day, so at least there will be one hockey game on each day for the near future.

The Penguins are off today and conventional wisdom says they will begin a quick preparation for Tampa on Thursday with a practice and video session before the series starts. Tampa will have had more rest, since they wrapped their series up on Sunday.
