2016 Stanley Cup Final: Vegas likes Penguins, Kessel

New, comments

Checking out the odds from Bovada about the Stanley Cup Final, the Penguins are a narrow favorite, and Phil Kessel is the current biggest Penguin favorite to win the Conn Smythe trophy for playoff MVP.

John Hefti-USA TODAY Sports

A new series means new odds from our friends at Bovada. (Here's how things looked last series)

San Jose Sharks (Series Price)                         21/20    (+105)

Pittsburgh Penguins (Series Prices)                    4/5        (-125)

Odds to win 2016 Conn Smythe Trophy as NHL Playoff MVP

Joe Pavelski (SJ)                      5/2

Phil Kessel (PIT)                        11/2

Sidney Crosby (PIT)                  6/1

Matt Murray (PIT)                       6/1

Logan Couture (SJ)                   15/2

Brent Burns (SJ)                        9/1

Martin Jones (SJ)                      9/1

Evgeni Malkin (PIT)                    9/1

Joe Thornton (SJ)                      9/1

Kris Letang (PIT)                        14/1

As we hinted last round, Murray and Letang were good value plays last round and both their odds have become better. Despite scoring 3 GWG last series Crosby is paying better odds right now than he was at the start of the EC Finals.

Pavelski looks like an absolute lock to win the Conn Smythe if the Sharks win the series, he's way out in front of his closest teammate, but Thornton saw a TON of movement from the 50-1 he was at prior to the Conference finals.
