Most breakdown days are sad. Before players depart for around the world and their summer rest and training they have to talk about what went wrong and what to hope for next season. Not so this year for the Pittsburgh Penguins who get the happy breakdown day.

Injury corner

Nick Bonino

One of the best (?) or maybe more intriguing moments is hearing what all the players had played through.

Nick Bonino was skating pretty much just for games towards the end, this was why, it would be tough to imagine HBK without the B.

Sidney Crosby

Nice to see Crosby is healthy. With the World Cup of Hockey about to start in early September, this summer is going to feel like 30 seconds for Crosby.

Ben Lovejoy

Tom Kuhnhackl

--Didn't reveal what the injury was to necessitate why hes wore a walking boot for most of the playoff run.

Evgeni Malkin

Malkin came back quickly from the March elbow injury and was able to do enough to win, hopefully he's 100% again soon.

Bryan Rust

Scott Wilson

After breaking his ankle in March, nice to see Wilson is coming along and probably will be good to go for the start of next season.

Lasting memory

Thanks again to all of our readers. A lot more here on Pensburgh this summer; we've got NHL Awards and Draft next week...Then it will already be July 1 the week after that. Player season reviews will also start soon and then in August our Top 25 Players Under 25 will make another return.
