The Pittsburgh Penguins will have 2 players in training camp (opens tomorrow!!) on PTOs.
Just two PTOs for the Penguins in camp. Both goalies. Doug Carr and Leland Irving.

That both are goalies isn't too much of a surprise, the organization didn't sign anyone over the summer and lost Jeff Zatkoff (who returned to the Los Angeles Kings), so they need another body.
Irving in particular could be one to watch.
Now at 28 years old, the former 2006 first round pick hasn't quite lived up to that billing, but he does have some NHL experience and has been pretty decent over the years in the AHL.
The Penguins don't have much behind Tristan Jarry (who's only 21 years old with 33 games of AHL experience), so they could probably use a somewhat stable goalie in the organization like Irving. Shouldn't make much of a difference for the NHL picture, but like the Pens saw at the start of the 2016 playoffs with their #3 goalie having to play the first two games, you never know.
