Evgeni Malkin was selected to play in the 2017 All-Star Game. He ended up not being able to make it - though he did have a contingent stop by - but if reports are to be believed, missing the festivities may have cost him.
Specifically, this report.
Ovechkin on if he is friends with Crosby now: "Yes. Best friends.” pic.twitter.com/yuMG1EUj7r

Uh oh.
Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin, longtime rivals, were finally on the same team. And they... worked well together. And got along. And had fun.
It’s the All-Star game; everyone has fun there. But best friends level of fun? That’s quite the big step.
But back to Geno...
So what is the truth, Sid??
Crosby has got two Russians claiming best friendship with him now. Which Russian is in the right? He’d better rectify this conundrum posthaste, especially while both he and Malkin are among the NHL’s very best players this season.
