Pens Points: A Minor Shakeup

The Penguins have made a couple of moves, the first Winter Classic is highlighted, and Wes McCauley has made another great call. All this and more in today’s Pens Points!

Here are your Pens Points for this Wednesday morning...

Yesterday afternoon, GMJR made a few trades involving a few minor players. He traded Josh Archibald and Sean Maguire to Arizona for goalie, Michael Leighton. [Pensburgh]

Soon after, he made another trade with the Dallas Stars by acquiring defenseman, Jamie Oleksiak [Pensburgh]. With these moves, the Penguins have essentially solidified two positions: the backup goaltender spot and the defense. Tristan Jarry is likely to remain the backup, while the Penguins now have eight defenseman on the roster. Is Ian Cole the odd man out? Only time will tell...
