Chad Ruhwedel played an integral part as a depth defenseman for the Penguins down the stretch and early on in the playoffs. He didn’t get a chance to crack into the lineup in the Cup Final but his presence and role through the spring were much needed.

Penguins have re-signed Chad Ruhwedel to a two-year contract. AAV of $650,000. Smart, solid move.

A good, cheap signing for a player that can fit in perfectly fine as a 3rd-pairing defenseman on this team. Good one to get out of the way early for Rutherford
