Pens Points: Can we talk about Carter Rowney’s bus?

A look at news and notes going on in the hockey world on a hot summer day. But really, Carter Rowney had the most kickass bus around to help him celebrate his day with Stanley.

St. Cloud State starting goalie Taylor Crosby has a hockey bio that briefly mentions a brother who also plays hockey. Big if true! [NHL.com]

More Rick Tocchet talk in how he relates to other new NHL head coaches:

Tocchet, Housley, Boughner, Green, Stevens and Gallant all played in the NHL in the 1990s and represent the new-school concept of a players' coach, mixing positive relationships with accountability.

Sounds a lot like Mike Sullivan too. It’ll be very interesting to see if Tocchet’s able to take what he’s experienced in the past few years and how much he can apply in Arizona. [Tribune Review]

The Sharks say thank you and goodbye to Patrick Marleau (who’s been on the team since they drafted him 20 years ago in 1997!!!) with a full-page ad in the paper. [Fear the Fin]

Could Cody Franson be a professional tryout option for the Chicago Blackhawks? [Second City Hockey]

They might need Franson because veteran defenseman Brian Campbell is reportedly about to announce his retirement. [Twitter]

Who will be the next captain of the Buffalo Sabres? Will Jack Eichel have enough time to perform this job this along with his general managing and playing duties? [Die by the Blade]

Ryan Johansen has been a pain in the neck to sign before and needs a new contract now. He wants $200,000 less than Sidney Crosby makes. Good luck with that, Smashville. [On the Forecheck]

Since there’s not too much going on, it seemed like Carter Rowney really enjoyed his day with the Stanley Cup (he said, in the most obvious statement ever).

Really though, I just want to know about this bus. It looks like some kind of hillbilly stretch limo and I need it in my life.
