Welcome to NHL All Star weekend! This can serve as the place to talk about the skills competition tonight at 7 PM Eastern on NBCSN. Here’s the events
- Fastest Skater
- NHL Passing Challenge
- Save Streak
- Puck Control Relay
- Hardest Shot
- Accuracy Shooting
At press time it’s not known what the Penguins players Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang will be participating in, however last year Crosby won the shooting accuracy drill (hitting all 4 targets in under 11 seconds), so it makes sense that he might be involved in that in an effort to repeat.
Here’s a pretty cool look from Sportsnet of all the different drills and challenges, it would be fun to watch Crosby in the passing challenge or puck control drill as well.
The actual game is tomorrow afternoon. For the Metropolitan division there have been 2 changes to the roster due to injury; the Devils representative has gone from Taylor Hall to Brian Boyle (in the feel good story of the weekend given Boyle’s battle with cancer) and the second change is Zach Werenski will replace his injured teammate Seth Jones.
