Heading into the start of tonights game, you always wonder who will be the first player to score a goal for the team.
You wonder if it will be one of the usual suspects — someone like Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, or Jake Guentzel. If you wondered this, you would be wrong.
GOAL! OLEKSIAK! WOW! The Penguins take the early lead with 18:11 left in the 1st period. 1-0. Malkin and Kessel earn the assists. pic.twitter.com/R4klkDEjn4

It was the Big Rig, Jamie Oleksiak.
The first shift for the Malkin line was great, a few rotations at the top of the offensive zone created some chaos for the Capitals trying to stay on top of the play. The last rotation moving Oleksiak out to the left side and into a shooting position was beautiful, crossing up the Capitals players. You could see right away that the Capitals players were worried as Oleksiak popped out to the left.
This goal would be quickly undone by two Washington goals from Jakub Vrana and Brooks Orpik.
