Penguins vs. Coyotes preview/gamethread

It’s a hockey night in Pittsburgh

NHL: Arizona Coyotes at Pittsburgh Penguins Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Losers of five straight, the Pittsburgh Penguins look to get things back on track tonight on the road where they will face the Arizona Coyotes.

Matt Murray is typically the Pens starting goalie. This game he will not be tonight, as the team has announced they will be starting Casey DeSmith in the net. DeSmith does have a .929 save percentage in eight games this year (compared to Murray’s .886%) so he certainly does have a good case to get the playing time tonight.

Another lineup change for the Pens will be another change on defense, with Jamie Oleksiak being a healthy scratch tonight in order for Chad Ruhwedel to get back in the lineup. Oleksiak has been on the ice for the last four goals the Pens have given up at even strength, and though some might not be necessarily all his responsibility, that’s a good way to end up in the press box.

We’ll keep this open for the game tonight to talk with Pens fans here, so away we go.
