Some games are just another game in a long regular season. Simply 1 of 82.
But the first ever visit to Pittsburgh by the Vegas Golden Knights will not be just another game. It will mark the first time Marc-Andre Fleury has played in Pittsburgh after a portion of his career that spanned 14 years and 3 Stanley Cups. It's sure to be an emotional night.
And, an important one. Vegas is incredibly the top team in the league this year. The Pens are in a dog-fight in the super close Metropolitan Division and need the points. Fleury won't be inclined to surrender them easily. Sidney Crosby is still seeking career goal #400 and could score it against one of his very best buds. The drama will be high, the building loud. And the opponent's goalie will get the loudest cheer ever in Pittsburgh, and probably NHL history. That's a bold statement to make but it's a true one as well. Get emotionally and mentally prepared; it's going to be a tough, weird, fun, awkward, joyous, bitter and sweet game.
