Pens Points: Comeback with a CAPITAL “C”

Here are your Pens Points for this Friday morning...

Last night saw the Penguins and Capitals begin their third playoff series in three years. Game 1 began on a sour note: a very early Caps goal. Alex Ovechkin would later extend that to a 2-0 lead. But the Penguins, led by Matt Murray, kickstarted a 3-goal third period for a crazy, 3-2 comeback win. [Recap]

Speaking of comebacks, they are becoming the norm for the teams. [Trib Live]

Jake Guentzel turned into a wrecking ball towards the end of the Flyers series. And he just so happened to notch a goal in last night’s win. But he’s still looking for more success, this time on the power-play. [Trib Live]

The third line has stayed relatively intact, even in the absences of Carl Hagelin and Evgeni Malkin. And with that, they have started to form a nice chemistry. [Post-Gazette]
