We’ve reached the point of the NHL’s off-season where hours are spent analyzing the terms and tax implications of free agent contracts.

Well, if you’re looking for an actual game of competitive shooty puck, why not check out Da Beauty League?

From State Of Hockey:

Da Beauty League announced the schedule for its 2018 season which kick off Wednesday, July 11. Da Beauty League will continue to feature fast 4-on-4 action. Games are played every Wednesday in July and Monday and Wednesday in August. All games will be played at Braemar Arena in Edina. The season will conclude with the playoff semifinals on August 20 and the championship game on August 22.

Da Beauty League includes three games consecutively played each night starting at 5:30 p.m. CT, with the final game ending around 9:30 p.m. CT. The games consist of two 23-minute running halves.

But why would a Minnesota-based pre-preseason tournament be of any interest to Penguins fans? The one and only Jake Guentzel, a Woodbury, Minnesota native, is one of the team’s captains. The tournament also features other NHL stars such as Dustin Byfuglien, Zach Parise, Brock Boeser, among countless other professional, college, and minor-league players.

And for those familiar with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and other Penguins prospects, a lone WBS representative, Teddy Blueger, has joined in on the fun, as well as 2017 NHL draftee Clayton Phillips.

Fans who are unable to catch the action in person can watch all three games online at DaBeautyLeague.com.

More information can be found on Da Beauty League’s website or on their social channels like Twitter (@dabeautyleague), Facebook, (Da Beauty League), Snapchat, (Dabeauty_league), and Instagram (@dabeautyleague_official).

Only 85 more days until hockey returns in Pittsburgh.
