There’s not much going on this time of year, but the Penguins did give some details on their promotional nights and the “theme nights” at PPG Paints for 2018-19.
For a team with years of sellouts in a row, they probably don’t even need these promotions in order to move the tickets, but it’s still pretty cool that they get some swag out to the paying customers every year.
The theme nights can be hit or miss, but it’s a long 82 game season, so I’m all for anything to spice it up and make it feel special. Always fun to see what ridiculous outfit Dan Potash will throw on, and there’s another ‘80s and ‘90s night this year so that should be fun to watch.
And, if you’re planning a trip to the ‘Burgh or looking to schedule something far out, single game tickets are getting released this Thursday morning! It may be the dead of summer right now, but hockey is inching ever closer.
I haven’t told the gang this yet, nor made any plans at all, but I’m thinking a Pensburgh meetup might happen Saturday December 1st against the Flyers. So, you know, we didn’t give much notice last year but consider this notice that I’ll at least be there and we’ll have some fun if any of the out of town folks are looking to get in on it this time around.
From a team release:
Bobbleheads of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang, along with the return of the popular “theme nights,” highlight the Pittsburgh Penguins’ promotional schedule for 2018-19 at PPG Paints Arena. Individual game tickets go on sale Thursday, Aug. 2 at 10 a.m.
All fans in attendance will receive a Crosby bobblehead on Monday, Nov. 19 vs. Buffalo; a Malkin bobblehead on Monday, Dec. 17 vs. Anaheim; and a Letang bobblehead on Monday, January 28 vs. New Jersey. The bobbleheads are courtesy of UPMC.
Six theme nights, which give fans an opportunity to “dress the part,” range from the traditional “Ugly Holiday Sweaters” to the new “Superhero Night.” The complete list:

December 6 NY Islanders Superhero
December 20 Minnesota Ugly Holiday Sweater
