A quick glance at the calendar will still show August but we are slowly creeping towards September and the beginning of training camps which cannot come soon enough. Until then, players are still enjoying their time off while preparing for the new season that is on the horizon.

Like most players, Evgeni Malkin returns home every summer for some much deserved R&R and offseason training. If the video Malkin posted on Saturday afternoon was any indication, then all the hard work is paying off for the Penguins superstar.

The video appears to be from a commercial ad of some sort but it features Malkin pulling off an absolutely ridiculous lacrosse style spin-o-rama goal past a helpless goaltender while undressing a few defensemen in the process. Sure it is probably set up to make everything as easy for Malkin as possible, but it still takes an incredible amount of skill execute a shot of this difficulty even in a controlled environment.

In a few short weeks, Malkin will be heading back across the Atlantic to rejoin his Penguins teammates for training camp in preparation for the 2018-2019 NHL season. If the video above is any indication, Malkin already looks to be in midseason form.
