80 SAM MILETIC
A few youngsters will be pulling double duty from the game last night in Buffalo; forwards Daniel Sprong, Dominik Simon, Derek Grant and Teddy Blueger are all back. Grant is valuable since NHL teams must dress a certain number of “veterans” based on last year’s NHL games, which is helpful since the team doesn’t want to play their stars like Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Patric Hornqvist, etc on the road. And since Derick Brassard and Riley Sheahan have been dealing with illness and injury, respectively, it makes more opportunity for guys like Blueger and Grant.
Otherwise, this squad is a bit stronger than yesterday. It will mark the debut of Jack Johnson as a Penguin. Johnson has played a lot early on in camp with Justin Schultz so expect to see a lot of them together.
We’ll also get to see the NHL preseason debuts of 2018 draft picks Calen Addison and Justin Almeida, so that should be fun too.
In net it’s the same two goalies as last night, so it would make sense that it’s Tristan Jarry getting a turn.
The game starts at 7:30 and will be live on the NHL Network.
