With the Penguins in Boston to take on the Bruins at the TD Garden, the game started off as well as many of the previous tilts between the two teams. Three straight goals for the Bruins led to Matt Murray being pulled from his net. He wasn’t at his best, but a netminder being pulled can also be a wake up call for the rest of the team. Murray has been solid in his net more often than not this season — but this was not a great night for him.
Down 3-0, the Penguins needed a spark or things could’ve gotten out of control.
An offensive zone face-off, a rebound, and we are on the board. A nice finish from a tough angle.
Kahun has to be feeling good about getting a goal in his return from being a healthy scratch on Saturday, despite logging three points in Tuesday evening’s drubbing of the Philadelphia Flyers. After a slow start to the season where he was invisible at times, Kahun has now scored 3 goals in his last 3 games. The Penguins are going to need that production from players like Kahun if they want to keep trending upwards.
