An update on the Penguins injury front

Some news from Coach Sullivan came out today on the status of the team

With the Penguins set to face off tonight with the Nashville Predators, Mike Sullivan held court with members of the media to give a little update on some team members injury statuses that they have been dealing with over the past few weeks.

  • Patric Hornqvist will not play tonight for the Penguins against Nashville, but his return to the lineup is getting closer.
  • Sidney Crosby continues to skate following his sports hernia surgery and is making progress.
  • Nick Bjugstad, who had been out ‘longer-term’ started skating today.
  • Brian Dumoulin and Justin Schultz have not yet started skating following their respective injuries they are dealing with.

The puck drops tonight at 8:00 pm ET at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, as part of a home-and-home back-to-back between the Penguins and the Predators.
