We are into the dog days of summer, but the NHL is as crazy as ever with free agency now well underway. With that, we have NHL Network’s E.J. Hradek to lend us his insight on the kind of player the Penguins are getting in Alex Galchenyuk. Hradek also goes on to talk about some of the bigger moves made around the Metropolitan Division and the rest of the NHL.

We also discuss:

  • Brandon Tanev’s potential impact as a Penguin
  • Possible candidates for another Jim Rutherford trade
  • The future of Mike Sullivan with the new hire of AHL coach Mike Vellucci

Be sure to follow E.J. on Twitter (@EJHradek_NHL) to get all sorts of news from around the league!

You can also watch E.J. on NHL Now weekdays at 4pm ET throughout the offseason only on NHL Network. Visit for your local channel listings.
