Yesterday afternoon when it was made public that Sidney Crosby was traveling with the team to Nevada for their upcoming game against the Vegas Golden Knights, many were hopeful it meant his return to the lineup was coming soon.
It seems that his return may be coming fairly soon.

Despite his skating today, it doesn’t affect anything in terms of his status for tonight’s game.
Crosby will NOT play tonight. Though his not taking part in rushes was a giveaway. Still a great sign of his progress. #Pens -SK

In addition to the update on Crosby, a few other injured players skated and can only mean good things in terms of their injury statuses.

One can only hope that as injured players start making their way back to practice and closer to game action that no further injuries enter the picture as well.
Getting Crosby, Schultz, and Bjugstad back will be a big part of getting a good look at what the Penguins roster composition is looking like before Jim Rutherford makes any potential moves at the trade deadline.
