Rodrigues was acquired by the Penguins in February 2020, when the Penguins traded Dominik Kahun to the Sabres in exchange for Conor Sheary and Rodrigues.
Rodrigues only played in 7 regular season games for the Penguins before the season was halted due the Coronavirus pandemic.
He was then dealt to Toronto this past summer as part of the trade involving the Maple Leafs in which the Penguins sent their 2020 1st Round Pick in exchange for Kasperi Kapanen, plus a swapping of minor league players.
Rodrigues was not extended a qualifying offer by the Maple Leafs, making him an unrestricted free agent, able to sign with any team today.
