After blocking a shot and leaving Thursday’s game against the Maple Leafs early, Dominik Kahun is expected to be a game time decision when the Penguins take the ice against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday at PPG Paints Arena.

Kahun had recently returned to the lineup after being out with a concussion and left the game during the 3rd period on Thursday after being hit with a shot from Toronto’s Denis Malgin.

Following Thursday’s game, there had been no update to his status, but Mike Sullivan spoke briefly regarding Kahun on Friday.

“Right now, his status is just day to day. So we’ll take each day as it comes. We’ll see how it is [Saturday]. He’ll be a game-time decision,” Sullivan told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Matt Vensel.

Kahun did not practice Friday. Anthony Angello filled in on Kahun’s spot at today’s skate on a line with Evgeni Malkin and Bryan Rust.

Having been out of the lineup for the past month, Kahun has 10 goals and 17 assists in 50 games for the Penguins this season.
