The Penguins kicked off a Florida swing last night, traveling to Tampa Bay to take on one of the NHL’s hotter teams in the Lightning. Tampa opened the scoring in the first and never really looked back, with the Penguins power-play looking less-than-stellar in a 4-2 loss. [Recap]

A low-light of the game last night was John Marino taking a Steven Stamkos slap shot to the face. According to early indications from Mike Sullivan, the rookie d-man looks to have escaped major injury. [Post-Gazette]
