Penguins get welcome news as Brian Dumoulin and John Marino both draw neared to a return

New, comments

Good news on the injury front for once!

And now, seven of the best words you’re likely to read today, courtesy the wonderful Sam Kasan from the Penguins:

Dumoulin is skating with Letang in breakouts”

How about four more wonderful words?

Nick Bjugstad was back in a full contact jersey and had an interesting line placement as well:

Dominik Simon, injured in the third period against San Jose on Saturday, was not on the ice. Though it could be possible, if not likely Bjugstad for right now is simply a placeholder for Patrick Marleau, who wasn’t with the team today as he tends to the details of his his cross-country trade last week.

Either way, the Penguins are finally starting to look like an NHL playoff caliber team. We’ll have to see what happens as far as tomorrow night’s game goes, but all signs are sure pointing to either Brian Dumoulin or John Marino — if not both — playing tomorrow.

The Pens are in action again tomorrow night against Ottawa. It’s starting to look likely that their lineup will be significantly stronger than it has been over the past couple of weeks.
